Great Wall Motors signs strategic cooperation agreement with China Unicom
On April 6, Great Wall Motors signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Unicom in Baoding. According to the agreement, China Unicom, as one of the largest telecom operator in China, will become the only designated partner providing auto information service for Great Wall Motors.

The signing ceremony was with attendance of Wei Jianjun, chairman of Great Wall Motors, and Chang Xiaobing, chairman of China Unicom.
For the sake of customers’ demands in driving on multiple levels, Great Wall Motors is always committed to application of new technologies to its products, and keeps raising new requirements for auto intellectualization and informatization. For example, vehicle navigation, safety protection, reversing camera and others are all considered as important links in Great Wall Motors’ manufacturing process.
As to the cooperation between Great Wall Motors and China Unicom, both parties will deepen information contents, specifically expressed in establishment of telematics service support platform, sharing of information resources and service systems, enhancement of basic information services, and promotion of telematics progress on the basis of the former communication network cooperation. Great Wall Motors will sufficiently integrate communication resources while vigorously promote application of WCDMA and other information and communication technologies, for example, safety protection, remote diagnosis and rescuing, positioning, video signal and call center, to the auto information service field, aiming to provide customers with CI & auto integration driving experience as well as effective and convenient driving services.
Considering China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd (China Unicom), one of the top 500 enterprises around the world, has possessed a nationwide or even worldwide modern communication network. It has both fixed-line and mobile networks as well as currently the most advanced WCDMA 3G mobile communicating networks, its self-owned high-tech telematics service support platform (TSSP) has already become a strong support for telematics services. It is estimated that Great Wall Motors’ products of all series would be equipped with telematics service application by the first half of 2013.
