The Wingle GW4D20 model passes market certifications for vehicles in the European Union and Australia
The Wingle Pickup, equipped with a GW4D20 Diesel Engine and manufactured by Great Wall Motors, recently has successfully passed the EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) and the Australian market certification.
The Wingle Pickup, equipped with a GW4D20 Diesel Engine and manufactured by Great Wall Motors, recently has successfully passed the EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) and the Australian market certification. Passing of these certifications signifies that this vehicle model can now be freely sold in the European Union and Australia.
At the Appraisal Meeting for Scientificand Technological Achievements of the GW4D20 Diesel Engine, an expert panel spoke highly of the engine, commenting that “This engine deploys a number of advanced technologies. Its core technology is the result of independent research and development, with cutting-edge performance, broad application prospects and good social benefits”.
The power per liter of the GW4D20 Diesel Engine is 55 kW. Its power is on a par with a 3L engine and overshadows similar domestic and foreign products by over 10%. In addition, the emission results of vehicles equipped with this engine can reach Euro IV Standards. Moreover, this model boasts the lowest amount of noise among the high-performance diesel engines of the same type.
The GW4D20 Diesel Engine is currently in mass production now. At the end of 2011, total production capacity will exceed 140,000.
In September 2009, the Great Wall Florid, Coolbear, HAVAL and Wingle 5 jointly passed the EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA). At this time, Vehicle model Approval for the Wingle Pickup equipped with the GW4D20 Diesel Engine is the extension of the Wingle 5 equipped with the 4G69 Gasoline Engine. The certification work began in April 2010 and ended in August 2010, lasting for more than four months.
